People Are Stupid

Maybe it's just that time of the month for me. But people are annoying as hell.

For example: The hot topic on campus right now is smoking. Smoking may be dumb, may be unhealthy, may be gross. But I fail to see how this qualifies as being MORALLY EVIL!!! We're not talking about killing babies here.

And I just finished responding to some jackass who thought it was a good idea to accept every rule or assumption you're ever given in life because Christians are called to be obedient. C'mon, genius. Honestly. Keep that logic and you'll end up working as a prison guard in a Nazi Concentration Camp.

Oh. And write your fricking congressmen/women about the God damned PATRIOT ACT. What is this, 1984? Let's just invade everyone's privacy and hold people without warrant and kiss our God given basic human rights to freedom and fricking DEMOCRACY goodbye.

Vote Dean. I can't stand 4 more years of this monkey in office.

K-star, I'm hearing you. Yesterday I wanted to kill everyone, and MAN was I a bitch. So I'm throwing out a huge apology to everyone who may or may not have crossed my path yesterday, and to whom I may or may not have been just plain awful. Wow, I hated myself by bedtime. OK, so today is a new day. Anyhow, hang in there, Kman.

Well, if you smoke when you're pregnant, you could be killing babies... Sorry. I work for a perinatalogist. I hear this spiel a lot.

You're welcome to bum one of my cigarettes, if that will make you feel better.

BTW, how is smoking the hot topic on campus. Are they finally considering repealing the no-smoking policy? Does this mean the smoker's trail behind the Art Barn will be abandoned?

Cigs suck, except for Pall Malls. Pipe and cigar smoking is where the real action is at.

Dean. Dean. Please tell me you're kidding. I'm no fan of Dubya, especially after his SOTU, but sheesh man, at least pick someone who isn't left of Stalin. If Dean gets the Democratic nominiation - which he won't, if Iowa means anything at all - you can just watch the level of political discourse, currently pretty terrible, descend to previously inconceivable depths.

I read the so called jackass's post this morning and stopped just short of hoisting the monitor off the desk and hurling at the first living thing I could find. How can people be so stupidly naive? I swear...Ryan put it well (and kudos for saying it), the campus really is full of sheep. Maybe we could do something to satirize this horrifying state of affairs for the next hall skit...

I was not aware of our "God-given" right to democracy. And to think, all these years I've been operating under the assumption that we live in a republic! Boy, is my face red!

Hyperbole. Exageration. Overstatement. It's what you do when you are enraged and trying to make a point. Thank you and goodnight.

Ahh, it's nice to hear a good rant. Though I can't agree with on the Bush thing I whole-heartedly agree with the W-door thing. I also really liked your post in response. Pisses me off that no matter how many times we destroy their position, they keep coming back with the same old arguments. Now that's casting pearls before swine.
